Military Bio: William is a Veteran of WWII and Korea and now resides in the town of Morristown N.J. William served in the Air Corps as a new recruit and was deployed to the European Theater in WWII. William was captured in the North Sea (Denmark) by the German Fleet after being shot down October 9, 1943 at the age of 20. He was held prisoner for 20 months in Stalag 17B until liberated May 5th 1945. William received the Purple Heart and Air medal among other military honors. Bill used the GI Bill to further his education on release from the military. He enjoyed a productive working career as a independent manufacturer. Today Oct 1998, William is very active in Veterans Organizations including the AX-Prisoners of War and his wife Anne is also very supportive with this endeavor. |
